Our First Big Event After The Wedding

On July 1, 2010 our dearest friends had their first child.  Her name is Mia and she was born 5lbs and 9 ounces.  We got the call at 10:26 am that she had been born 5 minutes earlier and an hour later we were in the car and on our way to meet our future Goddess daughter.  We were the first to arrive after Grandma and Grandpa, of course.  When we arrived she was all bundled up and when we opened the blanket a little, we were elated.  But a little someone was not so happy for the light we had let into her dark blaketed world.  We will never forget the face that greeted us.  Shortly after we arrived Mommy and baby were transferred to a new room and I got to carry Mia all the way to her new room and sit with her while Mommy was resting.  I have held many babies, but for some reason this little one grabbed all my hearts strings and hasn't let go.  I can't wait to be a goddess mommy.  My wonderful husband couldn't stop smiling and was very sweet.  He took lots of pictures to help document this wonderful occassion.
